Beliefs“Man is a Religious Animal. He is the only
Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion - several of
them. He is the only animal that loves his neighbour as himself and cuts his
throat if his theology isn't straight. He has made a graveyard of the globe in
trying his honest best to smooth his brother's path to happiness and
heaven....The higher animals have no religion. And we are told that they are
going to be left out in the Hereafter. I wonder why? It seems questionable
taste.”
Religion is a
volatile subject that most political parties delicately leave it aside for
fear of losing votes. We have no intention to buy your vote cheaply but to
address and also attempt to solve some of the serious social problems associated
with religion. Is religion (not
necessarily yours but in general) really good for us?
Let’s try to
evaluate briefly some aspects of many popular belief
systems:
Many centuries
before the dawn of knowledge people wanted to explain the unknown Universe and
established their own mythology and religions. Wise men quickly realized the
vast potential of superstition and attained immense power and wealth, while most
others had to work hard and dream about better second life. Everything
worked fine until one day they found out that their neighbours worshiped other
deities... The ensuing bloodshed continued for thousands of years and is still
going on today. Our inability to
accept or tolerate other belief systems led to the demise of entire
civilizations, countries, cities and communities. Millions of people were
sacrificed, crucified, burned, hanged, tortured or killed because they had the
“wrong” beliefs. "Our" own religion is always right and we keep sending
missionaries and armies to fix the infidels wherever they
are... Despite fear and
prosecution during the last centuries millions of people around the world grew
dissatisfied with the ancient dogma and discovered better sources of knowledge
and devotion. Science slowly became the new “religion” of the thinking man and soon proved its vast superiority in
all aspects of life. While we
seriously recommend critical thinking, we have no intention to impose any choice
or religion. We are truly committed to provide
peace, harmony, tolerance, understanding, equality and freedom of all
beliefs. We shall employ
the full power of modern philosophy, science and technology to eradicate
superstition and stop this endless religious conflict. We don’t promise any
afterlife but we’re sure that together we can bring “heaven” down to Earth.
Wherever you want to go after death is entirely up to you.
